About StudyBuddies
StudyBuddies was founded with a simple goal in mind: To lower the threshold for collaboration and promote shared learning. The solution is a platform created by students, for students, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges that can arise in student life.
Our story
StudyBuddies was founded by CEO, Ina Hansen. Ina is a very social person, but she experienced a challenge that many students can relate to. The student environment was largely centered around alcohol-related activities, which made it difficult for her to find her place. As someone who does not drink alcohol, she struggled to participate in many of the social events that characterized student life.
It became particularly problematic when it came to group-based exams. Ina often ended up doing the work for several people alone, which was not only overwhelming, but also drained her of her study motivation.
Inspired by the need:
Ina's experience is not unique. The SHoT survey in 2022 revealed that 61% of students wanted more alcohol-free offers, and 49% believed that there was too much drinking in the student environment. Ina realized that she was not alone in these challenges.
How did the solution come about?
Ina decided to tackle this problem. She wanted to create an environment where students could collaborate and build strong networks without being dependent on alcohol-related social events. This was the beginning of Studybuddies - a platform designed to improve academic collaboration and strengthen student networks.
Our Expertise:
With years of experience and a passion for helping students, our team has gathered expertise in innovation, technology and group psychology. We work closely with universities and colleges to offer tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of their students.
Supporting facts:
78% of students experience a high threshold for contacting fellow students. Studybuddies solves this by creating a collaborative and learning environment that is at the centre.
As many as 86% believe that the threshold for meetings is lowered when they know that the other party is also willing to work academically with them.
In the Student health and well-being survey (SHoT) 2022, 44% of students between the ages of 18 and 20 reported that they feel lonely
The results from the Student Health and Well-Being Survey (SHoT) in 2022 confirmed this problem, where 61% of students wanted more alcohol-free options, and 49% believed that there was too much drinking in the student environment.
We developed a solution designed to improve academic collaboration and strengthen student networks without relying on alcohol-related social events.
